NEWS UPDATES FEES

*Viboxo is currently at R&D stage with MTU/Munster Technological University, Cork Campus, who are in the process of applying for funding from EDIH/Enterprise Ireland to finish the visualisation software technology in combination with the hardware tactile device.

*This will give the users the whole new experience of being able to see the music in vibrant colours, each note a different specific colour, connected to the tactile device, which will be in time with the visual display.

*If we can propose the development of our own solution with additional capabilities we can hope that it will be innovative enough to secure funding and produce a unique product. This would be a good way to generate Intellectual Property and attract funding.

A tribute indeed to Orla O'Sullivan who refused to give up on her dream of bringing music to the deaf and other sensory impaired in a new way.

Music in Colours. Music You Touch. Music Experienced.

Orla's album "Sound Senses" is available to download on YouTube, Please Subscribe. (see sidebar on right) The Album contains solo piano pieces with extracts of Bach, Schubert, Chopin, John Field, Phil Coulter and many more.

"All my pieces are played from memory, and I spent many many hours practicing to perfect my playing."

See the Sound

Due to her low vision, she uses magnification to enlarge the scores and memorises each bar one at a time. Orla feels that music is a great healing therapy for the body mind and soul. It also activates a person’s brain and may help make them brainier in other aspects in general.

“Without music, life would be an error,” quotes Friedrich Nietzsche.

Feel the Sound

Orla, who is profoundly deaf, says that even if someone is totally deaf he/she can still feel and hear the sound. She feels and hears the sound through vibrations which is then interpreted by the brain. It is the sense of hearing and touch that can do this. Also with sight, the brain creates the sound through movement.

She hopes that the Sound Senses Album will stimulate the listener to enjoy the experience of being entertained. Sound Senses will be launched shortly and it will be available for sale on my website.

“Being deaf and partially sighted does not stop me from doing what I want.”
Orla is very determined to continue to achieve her ambitions in music.

To quote Socrates “Thus education by the means of music is most excellent, as rhythm and harmony may reach the centre of the soul most deeply and lend grace and dignity.”
